About Melissa R. Chambers

Melissa’s Story
Melissa Chambers’s lifelong love of creating stories has led her to write middle-grade fantasy novels. In her preschool years, it was evident that storytelling would figure prominently in her education. As a youngster, sitting cross-legged on the floor, Melissa turned her toy figures over and over in her hands as she spun adventures for her little characters. During her school years, Melissa bound and home-published three books. She wrote and illustrated her first, The Chicken That Ate a Pig, when she was only seven years old.
Having Fragile X syndrome, Melissa has learned to focus on her strengths and adapt to her challenges. God has blessed Melissa with a heart of gold and plenty of creativity. She aims to encourage young people through stories of noble adventures and faith. She also likes to make people laugh and has written over two hundred jokes!
Melissa lives in a small town near the mountains of Virginia with her family—who serve as test subjects for her jokes. When she’s not writing, Melissa enjoys drawing characters on the computer, shopping, playing video games, and reading fantasy novels. She loves chocolate, furry pets, dragons, pirates, and drawing. Request Melissa’s Top Ten Jokes and join her Joke-of-the-Month Club below. She’ll also keep you up-to-date on the progress of her books.
Mage, the dragonkeeper of Aurafable, doesn’t toil for long in the dragon stables before her adventures take off at full throttle in The Sign. . . . Author Melissa Chambers has the greatest gifts of all in her wild imagination and an artfully written tale.
